About the author:
Angelina Hurley, an Aboriginal writer from Brisbane (Gooreng Gooreng, Mununjali, Birriah, Gamilaraay), debuted with Aunty Maggie and the Womba Wakgun (2009). A 2011 Fulbright Scholar at NYU, she has 35+ years in First Nations arts. In 2024, she became Griffith Film School's First Aboriginal PhD graduate, focusing on Blak comedy. Her thesis, Reconciliation Rescue, includes scripts for a TV series exploring Aboriginal humour. She contributes to journals, magazines, and media, amplifying Indigenous storytelling through academic and creative writing.
